Treating Obese Patients

Obesity is characterized by an excessive buildup of adipose tissue in the body as a result of eating more than is necessary for energy. The BMI should be used to categorize obesity, and if your BMI is over 30 kg/m, you are considered obese. As experts in exercise, physiotherapists share the global concern over the obesity epidemic, which is affecting both adults and children.

In order to prevent and treat obesity, there are two key therapies.

The latter strategy has received significant support from physical therapists. Exercise as a method of lowering obesity (i.e., reducing fat mass) and its associated advantages might be discussed by physiotherapists. In many cases, being fit is linked to better clinical results, such as a decreased risk of metabolic disease, cardiovascular disease, Alzheimer's disease, inflammation, and many other diseases.
